This collection consists of a carbon copy of a paper written in 1965 by Victor Fenske. The paper gives a brief history of the agriculture, land and early life of the immigrants who settled in Madison Lake, Minnesota, and surrounding areas. Because it is a carbon copy, the maps and photographs that were included in the original are not available. The paper was written as an assignment for Dr. Bert Burns’ Historical Geography class at Mankato State College.

This collection consists of a typescript written by Mary Salinda Foster. This article discusses a meeting with Mrs. James (no first name listed), regarding the Art History Club at Mankato State College. Mrs. James reminisced about the founding of the club to the club officers at a meeting celebrating her eightieth birthday.

This collection consists of an oral history interview conducted with Emmet J. Gavin of Austin, Minnesota. He worked for the Hormel Company in Austin for 54 years, and this interview focuses on his employment there. The interview was conducted by Mrs. lone Louk, as part of a project focusing on the 1933 Hormel employees' strike.

This collection consists of items pertaining to the family of Luella Lane Griffith, of Smith's Mill, Minnesota. Included in the collection are the records of her father's general store and the records that he kept as the justice of the peace. Also included is a photocopy of Lane family genealogical information dating from 1820 until 1974. The "friendship books" of both of Luella Lane Griffith's parents are also part of the collection.
