The Salet collection contains photographs and newspaper clippings of Salet family members and the Salet's Department Store in Mankato, Minnesota. Besides photos and clippings, items included are advertisements, three drawings of the original store, and awards received by Salet family members from the Jewish Home for the Aged of the Northwest and the Mankato Exchange Club. This collection pertains exclusively to the Mankato branch of Salet stores.

This collection consists of a typescript written by Dr. T. R. Schaffler, of Mankato, Minnesota. In the text, Schaffler discusses the integration of Lebanese Americans into the Mankato community. He traces the history of Lebanese Americans in that area from 1890 until about 1955. Schaffler discusses the problems that the Lebanese faced upon reaching Mankato and changes that took occurred from generation to generation in the United States.
