Abstract

This collection consists of a videotape of a television program about Charles A. Lindbergh. The program is narrated by Dr. Bruce L. Larson, a member of the Minnesota State University, Mankato faculty, who also served as the historical consultant. The program was produced by KTVI-TV of St. Louis, Missouri, with cooperation from the Missouri Historical Society. The film concentrates on Lindbergh's 1923 - 1927 activities in St. Louis.

Abstract This collection consists of notes taken by Bruce Larson from an interview with Christian Gaaresntroom. The interview was conducted in Fairmont, Minnesota in February of 1966. This collection consists of a lithograph of Mankato, Minnesota, ca. 1895. It was produced from a sketch by William Henry Allen for the Saturday Evening Spectator of Minneapolis. It is entitled “Birds Eye View of the Center of the City of Mankato”. The lithograph shows the main buildings in the downtown area, and identifies them by the business name, which is written on the front of the building.

This collection consists of items relating to lone Louk, of Mankato, Minnesota. Included in this collection are an outline done by Mrs. Louk, which discusses the 1933 Hormel Company strike. The other component of the collection is an oral history interview conducted with lone in 1977. In it, she discusses her background and what led her to Mankato State University, where she became the first student to graduate with a minor in Women's Studies.

Abstract

This collection consists of a program from the motion picture “Man on a Mission”, which was produced by the Mankato Rotary Club. This film’s purpose was to raise funds for an inquiry into the possibility of a Civic Center in Mankato. The film was completely funded by the Rotary Club, and filmed in the Mankato area. The program provides insight into the writing and production of the film, and also information about the various sites in the Mankato area that were used for filming.

This collection consists of two duplicate bound volumes of a special edition Mankato Free Press from 27 June 1952. This edition was compiled to commemorate the centennial of the city. Newspaper articles from throughout the history of Mankato were combined with commentary and illustrations from 1952 to produce this history of the area.
