 Collection — Folder: 1
Identifier: SMHC Collection 1328

Abstract

This collection consists of a paper written by Daryl J. Kramer about the Sidlaw farm, which is in Cedar Township of Martin County, Minnesota. The paper describes the history of the farm, which was once owned by William R. Merriam, former governor of Minnesota (1889 to 1893). Title struggles, local legends, and a list of the people who owned this particular farm are all part of the narrative. A map of the area and photographs of the farmhouse are also part of the text. The paper was written in 1965, as an assignment for Dr. Bert Burns’ Historical Geography class at Mankato State College.
