The William Dodsworth Willard reminiscences concern the Willard family, frontier life in southern Minnesota, and the early years of Mankato, Minnesota. The memoir includes a brief family history as well as details concerning his life. Willard concluded his musings by describing his participation in business and community endeavors within Mankato.

The Howard L. Williams collection contains an audiocassette tape, a CD duplicate of audiocassette, and a transcript of an interview conducted with Williams by Evelyn Schmanski in 1974. In the interview, Williams discussed his grandfather, J.T. Williams, who came to Blue Earth County, Minnesota in 1854, the growth of Mankato, Minnesota, and his family’s insurance agency.

This collection consists of information related to Samuel Bailey Wilson’s years as chief justice of the Minnesota Supreme court. Most of the items included in this collection are newspaper clippings about his tenure in the Supreme Court. The newspaper clippings are chronologically arranged, and assembled in scrapbook format. Also included in the collection are photographs of Wilson and his family, the diplomas awarded to his wife and son, and Wilson’s certificate of appointment.

Winter served as a German Lutheran minister on the Minnesota frontier, and he detailed his experience in the paper. In the document. Winter described of living conditions, wages, Minnesota communities, the Dakota Conflict, a grasshopper invasion, and Minnesota's pioneers.
