Abstract
The Roger L. Wilker collection consists of an audiocassette, a CD duplicate of the audiocassette, and a transcript of an interview conducted between Wilker and Julie M. Arndtsen during the fall of 1989. Wilker worked as an English teacher at West High School in Mankato, Minnesota. In the interview, he discussed the areas of change and continuity that have occurred during his teaching career that began in 1960. He focused on changes in curricula, teacher responsibilities, styles of education, and the community’s demands upon teachers.
This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for the graduate level Educational Foundations course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
