Haskell, Lyle (Spike), 1906 - 1976. Oral History Interview, 1974.
The Lyle (Spike) Haskell collection contains an audiocassette tape, a CD duplicate of the audiocassette, and a transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Marcia Mason and Haskell in the fall of 1974. In the interview, Haskell recalled his career as a musician in Minnesota. Haskell played in numerous orchestras based in Mankato, Minnesota that traveled throughout Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

The Charles Herbst collection includes an autobiography detailing the life of Charles Herbst, primarily his time serving in World War II, and a one shilling bill known as Japanese Invasion Currency. The memoir is entitled, The Teenage Farm Boy Goes Off to WWII. His account deeply explores his experience throughout training, deployment to Australia, island hopping campaigns, and occupation in Japan before his eventual return to Lake Crystal, Minnesota.
