Scrapbook, 1953
Scope and Contents
This series is primarily comprised of photographs of Cora Sletten, friends, colleagues, and family members. These photographs are dated from 1893-1953, including some undated photographs. The early photographs of her were taken when she was a young girl, graduating from high school and college and her early teaching career. There is a group of postcards in this series that were of places that she had visited. There are also photographs that show her doing field work and working at Mankato State Teachers College. The later photographs reflect her as a retired person. There is correspondence from William Netland and Bert Burns after Sletten’s death. The scrapbook contains photographs of administrators, faculty and staff from Mankato State Teachers College along with certificates awarded to Sletten and copies of the speeches given during Sletten’s retirement banquet. Five books that Sletten owned are included in the collection.
