Eckart, Wayne M., 1937-. Oral History Interview, 23 and 30 November 1987
Abstract
The Wayne Eckart collection consists of an audiocassette and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Eckart and Jeffery Gallup during the fall of 1987. Eckart began his career as a science teacher at Welcome, Minnesota (1967-1970). Following his experience at Welcome, Eckart completed a master's degree and was hired to teach at the Waldorf-Pemberton public school in 1972. In the interview, Eckart discussed the changes that occurred during his career. He mentioned changes in teaching methods, warning students about safety regulations and possible hazards, budgets, school messaging systems, and community expectations.
This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for the graduate level Educational Foundations course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
