Mayo Memorial Building correspondence and printed material , 1943 - 1945
Scope and Contents
This collection is made up of five folders of material. The first folder is Benjamin Hughes' handwritten speeches or lessons on religious subjects.
The next two folders contain Hughes' legislative correspondence. This includes the original letters sent to Hughes, along with copies of the reply that he sent. These letters are arranged in chronological order from January 22, 1947 to April 3, 1947.
The third folder contains correspondence, photographs, newspaper clippings, and minutes of meetings relating to the funding and construction of the Mayo Memorial building on the University of Minnesota campus. This building was built to improve the facilities of the University of Minnesota Hospital.
The final folder contains newspaper clippings, campaign material, certificates of election, information relating to Benjamin Hughes' memorial service, and other miscellaneous items.
