Sewing Samples, 1905 - 1907
Scope and Contents
The Anna M. Wiecking and Family collection consists of documents, pictures, and articles written by Anna Wiecking. Furthermore, items related to Mankato State College address the retirements of two faculty members, various miscellaneous documents, and the graduating classes of 1907 and 1910.
The collection includes educational articles published by Wiecking in several different publications, some unpublished reminiscences of the Mankato area, and newspaper clippings about Mankato State College. Wiecking included extensive family histories, sewing samples from her years as a college student, and a typed copy of her family’s vacation to Montana in 1917. In addition, this collection contains information on Gilbert Fletcher and Maud Hart Lovelace both famous Mankatoans. Two retirement speeches given by Wiecking for Signe Sletten and Cora Sletten are included. There are photos of the entire graduating class of 1907, the students involved with kindergarten education in 1910, and the 50th anniversary for the class of 1907.
