The Mary Berg collection consists of an audiocassette and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Berg and Tom Kramer, her son-in-law, in November 1984. In the interview, Berg, who taught at a rural school that was located between Claremont and Owatonna, Minnesota, discussed her experiences as a teacher during 1950-51. Overview
The collection contains a typed copy of reminiscences by George Griffin written in the
fall of 1941. Griffm focused on his numerous jobs. He recalled his youthful occupations
and reminisced about working on a threshing crew, being a carpenter, running steam
engines, and working in boiler rooms at various factories and mills located in Minnesota,
South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Griffin's activity with the Baptist Church, membership on

Overview
Thomas Henry Griffin was a farmer near Clinton Falls, Steele County, Minnesota. Most of the collection consists of account books which show receipts and expenditures for his farm and home; the prices of food, clothing, wood, and livestock; the wages paid to the hired help; and the amount of milk furnished to a cheese factory. The collection also includes a diary from 1878-1883, which includes information on the weather, dates for planting, and other aspects of his farming operations.
