Scope and Contents
The Grace Brewster collection is arranged in chronological order and by family name. The correspondence between Brewster and her relatives is arranged in chronological order from 1888 – 1952. The family genealogies have been arranged by family names: Bentley, Brewster, Bristol, Bunker, Jordan, Kettner, Loomis, North, Panling, Pratt, Rambo, Roberts, Sheldon, Smith, and Stone families. Additionally, fourteen notebooks and numerous documents concerning various family members have been categorized as miscellaneous items. The last section of the collection contains portraits of some members of the Brewster’s extended family tree.

Biographical / Historical
Grace Brewster was born on 15 August 1880 in Mankato, Minnesota. She was the granddaughter of Morton Wilkinson, who served in the U.S. Senate from Minnesota between 1859 and 1865, and the daughter of George H. Brewster. Grace Brewster educated students in the Mankato school system for many years. She died on 3 November 1971.

The Grace Brewster collection contains information regarding her family history. The information was compiled by Brewster and her father, George H. Brewster. The information details the family lines of the Bentley, Brewster, Bristol, Bunker, Jordan, Kettner, Loomis, North, Panling, Pratt, Rambo, Roberts, Sheldon, Smith, and Stone families. In addition to the compilation of ancestral heritage, the collection contains numerous photographs of some of Brewster’s many relatives.
