The Mankato State University Faculty Wives Association was organized in October of 1935, at the home of the college president's wife, Mrs. F. D. McElroy. A 1949 constitution defined the purpose of the organization as "to help the members get better acquainted, to further social life of the club and to render personal services to the college activities when so requested."
