Biographical / Historical
The Mankato Civic Music Association was organized on August 22, 1946, for the purpose of bringing professional musicians to Mankato. A. R. Pfau III was the first president of the organization, and Loretto M. Viegel the first secretary. Volunteers sold season tickets throughout the community. The association discontinued concerts about 1966 due to waning public interest, and an increase in concerts and performances at Mankato State College.
