Abstract
The Mildred R. Hanlon collection consists of an audiocassette tape, CD duplicate of the audiocassette, and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Hanlon and Elizabeth Larson during the fall of 1990. Hanlon worked as a kindergarten school teacher and as a secondary school special education teacher between 1950 and 1990. In the interview, Hanlon discussed the changes that she witnessed during her career with a focus on the rights of handicapped individuals, government regulation, the prevalence of television and the transformation of societal mores.
This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for the graduate level Educational Foundations course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
