Abstract

The Edward F. Hanlon collection consists of an audiocassette tape, CD duplicate of the audiocassette, and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Hanlon and Elizabeth Larson during the fall of 1990. Hanlon worked as a teacher for special needs students and as the director of the Martin County Special Education Cooperative between 1950 and 1990. In the interview, Hanlon discussed his administrative career, the changes in educating students with special needs, government regulation, parental concern for children, and the impact of technology upon education.

This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for the graduate level Educational Foundations course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
