Abstract
This collection is made up of a ledger kept by Zach Paddock, who was a Mankato, Minnesota businessman and politician. The ledger, dated 1872, contains transactions from Paddock’s grain business. It contains notes on dealings with other grain companies from Winona, Minneapolis, and St. Paul.

Biographical / Historical
Zach Paddock came to Mankato, Minnesota in 1858. He operated a grocery store and was a contractor and grain dealer during his time in Mankato. He also served as clerk of the Blue Earth County District Court (1860 – 1869), county coroner for three terms, and mayor of Mankato for one term. Paddock died in 1895.
