Tews, Beatrice, 1934-. Oral History Interview, 25 and 27 November 1988.
Abstract
The Beatrice Tews collection consists of two audiocassettes, CD duplicates of the audiocassettes, and a transcript of interviews conducted between Tews and Stephanie J. Schuette during the fall of 1988. Tews began teaching in 1954. In the interview, she discussed the areas of change and continuity that she experienced between 1954 and 1988. Tews focused on a variety of topics including the goals of elementary education, administrators, parents, teachers, students, school staff, and the mentions the increasing prevalence of students with developmental delays in her elementary classes.
This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for the graduate level Educational Foundations course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
