"Biographical Sketch of Herman Pfaender." 1952
Abstract
This collection consists of positive photocopies of a typescript, which describes the life of Herman Pfaender. The biography was written by, his daughter, Alwina Pfaender Withington. The sketch discusses Herman Pfaender’s studies at the University of Minnesota and his later exploits as a resident of New Ulm, Minnesota. The work fills eight pages, with the ninth page being a listing of lyrics to German songs.

Biographical / Historical
Herman Pfaender was born January 25, 1872, the son of William and Katherine Pfau Pfaender, who were leading pioneers in the founding of New Ulm, Minnesota. Herman Pfaender attended the University of Minnesota, and returned to New Ulm to reside. While living in New Ulm, Pfaender was a dairy farmer, and was also involved in the New Ulm Rural Telephone Company and the Minnesota Valley Cooperative Burial Association. Herman Pfaender died August 3, 1952.
