Abstract

The Ilene Blume collection consists of an audiocassette and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Blume and Carol Zeman during November 1985. In the interview, Blume, a home economics (life science) teacher at Janesville High School in Janesville, Minnesota from the early 1970s through 1985, discussed the school’s student body, administrators, teacher duties, problems with course curricula and staffing, job stress, and the behavior and morale of students and teachers during the mid-1970s.

This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for a course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
