Abstract
The Mary Baird collection contains an audiocassette tape, CD duplicate of the audiocassette, and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Baird and Victoria J. Van Duyn during the fall of 1988. Baird worked as a French teacher from 1965 through 1988 at schools in West St. Paul and Mendota Heights, Minnesota. In the interview, Baird focused on the areas of change and continuity that she experienced during her career as an educator. She noted changing social mores and the influence of age and economics within the communities she worked.
This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for the graduate level Educational Foundations course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
