Abstract
The Cansler collection consists of an audiocassette and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Gleamon Merf Cansler and Mickey Thao in 2005. In this interview, Cansler talks about his time spent in the United States Army Air Corp Reserve Cadet Program and his time in the Air Force in World War II.
This oral history interview was conducted as part of the South Central Minnesota Veterans History Project conducted by the Southern Minnesota Historical Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Biographical / Historical
Gleamon Merf Cansler was born in Dallas County, Missouri in 1921. Gleamon served in the United States Army Air Corp Reserve Cadet Program, and also in the Air Force during World War II. Gleamon enlisted in 1942 and served until 1946. He was stationed in San Diego, California. Following his discharge from the service, Cansler took advantage of the GI Bill and pursued a college education. Cansler worked as a Psychology professor at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Cansler is a resident of Mankato, MN.
