Abstract
The Leonard Kalakian collection consists of an audiocassette tape, a CD duplicate of the audiocassette, and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Kalakian and Scott Fischer during the winter of 1985. Kalakian came to Mankato State College in 1965 to work as a professor of physical education. He began the interview by discussing his biographical information. Additionally, he talked about salaries, hiring procedures, unions and faculty unity, morale, grading, the availability of physical education jobs, women’s athletics, communication skills, and teacher prestige.
This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for a course entitled Introduction to College Teaching at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
