Abstract

The Kelly Smerdon collection consists of a biographical form and an audio CD and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Smerdon and Emely Iverson in October 2007. Smerdon attended Minnesota State University, Mankato from 2004-2008. In the interview, Smerdon talks about her reason for attending Minnesota State Mankato, where she met her closest friends, why she chose her major, and her overall college experience.

This oral history interview was conducted as part of the Tell Your MSU Story Oral History Project conducted by the Southern Minnesota Historical Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Biographical / Historical

Kelly Smerdon was born Sept. 11, 1984, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Smerdon graduated from Eden Prairie High School in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. She then attended Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minnesota from August 2003 to July 2004. Smerdon attended Minnesota State University, Mankato from 2004 to 2008. Smerdon majored in sociology and minored in interdisciplinary communications. Smerdon graduated May 2008 from the Department of Sociology and Corrections with a Bachelor of Science degree.
