Abstract

The Kirk L. Ready collection consists of an audiocassette tape, a CD duplicate of the audiocassette, a biographical form and interview outline of an oral history interview conducted between Ready and Marsha Danielson in November 2006, and a Douglas R. Moore Faculty Research Lectureship for 1999 program. Ready graduated from Mankato State College with a master’s degree in 1968 and a specialist degree 1970. In this interview, Ready talks about his family, his education, and his experience as a faculty member at Minnesota State University.

This oral history interview was conducted as part of the Tell Your MSU Story Oral History Project conducted by the Southern Minnesota Historical Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Biographical / Historical

Kirk L. Ready was born December 29, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from Minnetonka High School in Minnesota in 1961, received a bachelor’s degree from UW-Stout in 1967, then a master’s degree in 1968 and a specialist degree in 1970 from Mankato State College. He married Sandra J. Ready in 1967 and both their children are graduates of Mankato State University. Ready was a teacher in North High School in Minneapolis and then an instructor at a Florida community college before being drafted into the Army in 1969. Ready was a faculty member in Automotive and Manufacturing Engineering Technology at Minnesota State University from 1971 until his retirement in 2002.
