Abstract

This collection consists of items pertaining to Frank G. Babcock and his family, formerly of Kasota, Minnesota. Frank Babcock’s autobiography, a family history compiled by him, and photocopies of newspaper articles make up the collection. The newspaper articles that were copied are a description of the golden wedding anniversary of Frank Babcock’s parents in 1933 and his mother’s obituary, which is undated.

Biographical / Historical

Frank G. Babcock was born in Kasota, Minnesota in June 1891. He attended the University of Wisconsin from 1909 to 1913, and joined his father in the stone quarrying business near Kasota. He served in the Army during World War I and in government administrative work during World War II. After the wars’ completion, he returned to Kasota and continued working in the stone business. In 1948 he became the sole owner and president of a stone quarrying firm, which became known as the Babcock Company.

Frank G. Babcock died in August 1969.
