Abstract

This collection consists of items relating the William F. Liedloff, and his harness business in Mankato, Minnesota. The collection is made up of one ledger and three advertising cards. The ledger contains the financial information about Liedloff’s Mankato shop. The advertisements are for shops that were operated elsewhere by Liedloff.

Biographical / Historical

William F. Liedloff was born in Wisconsin in 1850. Liedloff married Miss Otillie Ikier in 1874, and they had three children. He started a harness shop in Mankato in the 1870s. The shop was located at 58 South Front Street in 1881, and at 222 South Front Street in 1885. On Liedloff’s death, the business was purchased by John Krost.
