Abstract

This collection consists of a paper written by Garry L. Purvis about the history of Garden City Township, Minnesota. The paper discusses the area’s history from its settlement in 1864 until the early 1900s. The early settlers in Garden City Township, flour milling in the area, and church activities are all covered in this paper. Maps and photographs of Garden City homes and businesses are also included as an appendix to the paper. This paper was written in 1965, as an assignment in Dr. Bert Burns’ Historical Geography class at Mankato State College.
