Abstract
The Alice L. Curry collection consists of an audiocassette and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Curry and Kellian Clink on January 25, 2002. Curry served in the Army and Army Nurse Corp during World War II and the Korean War. She talks about life in the Army, serving as a Registered Nurse and living in England. Curry also talks about meeting her husband and the troubles they went though to stay together during her time in the Army.
This oral history interview was conducted as part of the South Central Minnesota Veterans History Project conducted by the Southern Minnesota Historical Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Biographical / Historical
Alice Curry was born in New Richland, Minnesota. While living in Albert Lea, Minnesota, Curry enlisted into the Army and was called to duty January 5, 1944. Prior to enlistment Curry was a Registered Nurse and was able to continue that work in the service. After training, Curry was assigned overseas in England. When she returned to the United States, she was transferred to several different states. While in Arkansas, she met a military man and was married. She followed him around the world for several years and after the Korean War eventually settled in Albert Lea, Minnesota. In all, Curry served 10 ½ years in the Army until 1981 when she retired.
