Dalen, Leonard Arvin, 1924-. Oral History Interview, 8 and 10 November 1986
Abstract
The Leonard Dalen collection consists of two audiocassettes and a transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Dalen and Karla Johnson during the fall of 1986. Dalen worked as a business education teacher in St. James, Minnesota from 1956 through the spring of 1986. In the interview, Dalen discussed his expectations of himself, colleagues, and students, the effects of world and national events on his pupils, the rights of teachers and students, the rewards of educating youth, his work concerning the development of a jobs program for students, and his educational ideals.
This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for the graduate level Educational Foundations course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
