Abstract

The Zach Hacker collection consists of a biographical form and an audio CD and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Hacker and Christy Smiland in October 2007. Hacker attended Minnesota State University, Mankato from 2006-2008. In this interview, Hacker talks about why he chose Minnesota State Mankato, his college experiences, where he lived while attending college, what a normal school week looked like, and his plans after graduation.

This oral history interview was conducted as part of the Tell Your MSU Story Oral History Project conducted by the Southern Minnesota Historical Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Biographical / Historical

Zach Hacker was born Nov. 15, 1985 in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Hacker graduated from New Richland-Heartland-Ellendale-Geneva High School in New Richland, Minnesota in May 2004. Hacker attended Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota from 2004 to 2006 and received an Associate of Arts degree. Hacker then attended Minnesota State University from 2006 to 2008 and majored in speech communication and minored in interdisciplinary communication. He graduated Cum Laude (with honor) with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Department of Communication. Hacker was a part-time sports reporter for the Waseca County News while he attended Minnesota State Mankato.
