Scope and Contents
The Finance and Administration Collection covers business and administrative aspects since before the founding of the Fiscal Affairs office in 1980. The Collection is arranged into six series. The first series is correspondence. The second series is budgets, records, and reports. The third series is general information. The fourth series is athletics. The fifth series is restricted information. The sixth series is restricted grant information.

Biographical / Historical
The office that assumed responsibility of the business aspect of the University has gone through significant changes over the years. In the 1970s the Business Affairs Officer executed the duties of Financial Officer. In 1980, under the Margaret Preska Presidential Administration, Mankato State University went through an administrative reorganization. As a result, the position of Vice-President of Fiscal Affairs was created. Thomas Stark was the first person to occupy the position. In 2001 the Division of Fiscal Affairs was renamed the Division of Finance and Administration. H. Dean Trauger was the Vice-President at that time. Trauger was also the first person to hold the position under the Finance and Administration name. The current Vice-President of the Finance and Administration is Richard Straka.
