Program Proposal, Clinical Track for a Master of Arts in Psychology, 1974
Scope and Contents
The College of Graduate Studies collection consists of their meeting minutes, course proposals, the Graduate Research Conference, their publications Tomorrow and Frontiers, and other materials produced by the college.
This collection is divided into seven series.
Graduate Council/Graduate Sub Meet and Confer Minutes: This series contains the meeting minutes for Mankato State Teachers College through Minnesota State University, Mankato for the College of Graduate Studies. There are also meeting minutes from the State Teachers College System, which became Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (Minnesota State). To differentiate between the two meetings, the meeting minutes from the university will have MSU at the end of the title, and the minutes from the State Teachers College System will have STCS at the end of them. In September 1974, the MSU Graduate Council Minutes changed to the Committee on Graduate Academic Programs. This remained until April 1976, when the minutes changed to just Graduate Studies. In December 1976, the group became known as the Graduate Sub Meet and Confer.
Graduate Course Proposals/Program Proposals: This series contains the course proposals submitted to the College of Graduate Studies. On these forms, a field of study can propose a new course, a change in the number of credits the class is offered for, a name change for a particular course, change the course number, or withdraw the course from being offered. Course had to go through this process to be approved by the College of Graduate Studies and the Curriculum Committee. This series also includes different program proposals that departments submitted for the committee’s approval. For some of the years, all the course proposals are in the same folder and not divided by department.
Graduate Research Conference: The Graduate Research Conference is held in April of the academic school year. This conference highlights graduate research and began in 2009.
Graduate Studies Publications: The College of Graduate Studies has two publications. Tomorrow began in the Spring 2005, and is published on a yearly basis in the Spring. Frontiers is published three times a year, Spring, Fall, and Winter, beginning in Spring 2007. Frontiers is now available online at http://grad.mnsu.edu/research/frontiers/.
Honors Program: The Honors Program is part of the College of Graduate Studies and Research. It challenges students to develop leadership and research skills and become global citizens. The materials in this series discuss the Honors Program from 2009 to the present.
Subject Files: This series contains information from the College of Graduate Studies that does not fit into any of the above categories. There are final reports about self studies, information about submitting thesis and alternate plan papers over the years, Outstanding Thesis Awards, and other miscellaneous reports and records.
University Fellowships: This series contains newsletters and marketing materials from the Office of University Fellowships. University Fellowships work with students to find opportunities for external scholarships and funding and aid them through the application process.
