Physical Collections
The University Archives is the official repository of
Minnesota State University, Mankato. The Archives contains records from the creation of the Mankato State Normal School in 1868 to present.
Southern Minnesota Historical Center is a regional research repository
containing manuscript collections from twelve counties in South Central Minnesota. The Center contains organizational and business records
and personal papers dating to the 1860s.
Collection guides describe and list the contents of collections and contain information about the person, family, or organization that created the
collection. Many collection descriptions also include inventories of the boxes and files of papers, photographs, media, or other materials.
